Board of Adjustment · Meeting of October 6, 2026

NJ HANOVER — Board of Adjustment approved porch variance but continued accessory building hearing due to notice issue. The seven-member board voted unanimously on a variance allowing Aaron Smith to construct a covered front porch with driveway and walkway adjustments at 87 Grand Ave., Cedar Knolls. Board Attorney Michael Sullivan, Esq., detailed conditions: exterior lights must be shielded against neighboring glare, an existing plastic shed must be removed, and the applicant bears representation and escrow obligations.

In a second matter, the board voted unanimously to carry Michael Mihalko's accessory building variance hearing to October 15, 2026, after the applicant's notice to utilities was found defective.
