Environmental Commission Elects Mattessich as Chairman

Environmental Commission & Green Team · Meeting of January 12, 2026

NJ HANOVER — Hanover Environmental Commission elects Mattessich as chairman after procedural dispute over alternate eligibility. Chris Mattessich was elected Environmental Commission chairman with six votes following a procedural question about whether alternate members may serve as officers. Member Hendricks resolved the dispute by switching to alternate status.

The Green Team elected Maggie Mc Ardle and Nadia Mian as co-chairs unanimously. The commission discussed the 2026 budget for tree purchases and the Green Newsletter, reviewed the Township's Round 4 housing plan for environmental impacts, and gathered input on tree fund allocation, noting past misallocation of funds for tree maintenance rather than replacement.
