Hanover approves $33.8M budget, industrial zone overhaul

NJ HANOVER — Hanover approves $33.8M budget and contested industrial zone amendment. The Township Committee unanimously adopted its $33,813,754.01 2026 municipal budget and passed Ordinance 20-2026, amending the I-B3 industrial zone to permit multiple principal buildings on single lots and smaller retail development. Attorney John Kaplan objected on behalf of property owner Thomas Fuller, represented by professional planner Donna Holmquist, who argued the ordinance conflicts with the master plan.
The Planning Board had found it substantially consistent. The committee voted 5-0 on both. Additional approvals included a $581,290 Algonquin Parkway resurfacing project and Board of Health appointments: Dr.
Ralph T. Meloro elevated to regular member; James S. Colavito appointed as Alternate 1.
The committee awarded Bee Meadow Pool concessions to Legacy Hospitality & Entertainment Group LLC for $5,600.
