Hanover Committee approves major mixed-use Whippany Road redevelopment

NJ HANOVER — Township Committee unanimously authorizes major mixed-use redevelopment project at Whippany Road, encompassing 400 units. The Committee approved three developer agreements for an 80-unit affordable residential project, 320-unit market-rate residential development, and a commercial project featuring a hotel, office, and restaurant, with combined performance guarantees exceeding $4.5 million. Additionally, the Committee unanimously adopted Ordinance 25-2026, appropriating $2.3 million and authorizing $2.189 million in bonds for township improvements.

The Committee extended affordability controls on two existing developments despite an objection from TR Sterling Hanover, LLC, with Township Attorney Fred Semrau commending the commitment to affordable housing.
