Landmark Commission elects officers, plans 250/350 anniversary celebrations

NJ HANOVER — Landmark Commission organizes for anniversary celebrations running through October. The commission unanimously elected Mike Czuchnicki as chairman, Len Fariello as vice chairman, and Barbara Blumenfeld as treasurer at its March 3 meeting. The 2026 budget provides $14,000 for anniversary events, down from the $17,000 requested, plus $10,000 for Whippany Burying Yard operations.
Events include a March 20 program on women in the Revolutionary War, a June 14 colonial concert, an April 25 Civil War Veterans Commemoration, and a July 4 commemoration at Whippany Burying Yard. A July parade, Hanover Township Day in September, and an October buffet luncheon complete the observances. The commission voted to renew a maintenance contract with Greenwood Tree Service for the burying yard.
