Planning Board Adopts Affordable Housing Plan, Refers Six Ordinances

NJ HANOVER — Hanover Planning Board unanimously adopts revised Housing Element and Fair Share Plan establishing a 139-unit affordable housing obligation. Joseph Burgis of Burgis and Associates explained the adjusted plan, which reduces the original 461-unit obligation through environmental constraints and development-potential analysis, addressing a present need of 10 units plus fourth-round requirements. The board referred six related ordinances to the Township Committee, including creation of new affordable housing overlay districts at 80 South Jefferson Road for up to 120 units and at 41 Ridgedale Avenue for 100 units.
Member Amoresano voted against the Ridgedale plan while members Ferramosca and Mayor Gallagher abstained on multiple ordinance referrals.
